throughout the game, ellie is consumed by her desire for revenge against abby, but she soon realizes that it has cost her everything and that she shouldnt continue down that path. at the end of last of us part II, ellie confronts abby, a character she has been pursuing for revenge throughout the game. the two engage in a brutal fight, but ellie ultimately chooses to spare abby's life and walk away, and this picture showing the aftermath of the fight. the game ends with Ellie returning to an empty home, where she attempts to play joel's guitar but finds it difficult having lost two fingers in the fight with abby.
